GNT Overview

The GNT is a major ACBL team championship held each year. Teams compete at Club, Unit, and District qualifying games. District winners compete at the Summer North American Bridge Championships (NABC).

Flights

The GNT has four flights based on accumulated masterpoints.

· Flight C is for players who have less than 500 masterpoints and are non Life Masters.

· Flight B is for players who have less than 2,500 masterpoints.

· Flight A is for players who have less than 6,000 masterpoints.

· The Open Championship Flight is open to anyone.

Competitions

For the 2022-2023 season, pre-qualification for the District 16 championships is not required. Any team can begin its GNT journey at the District event.

The top team in each flight at the District event will advance to the North American GNT championship. The second place Flight B team will also advance if there are eight or more teams in that flight at the District event. Same goes for Flight C.

2022-2023 Calendar

The District 16 GNT championship will be held as follows:

· Championship Flight and Flight B will be held on Friday, March 24 (and, if necessary, Saturday, March 25) in conjuction with the Dallas Sectional tournament at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75220.

· Flight A and Flight C will be held on Saturday, April 15 (and, if necessary, Sunday, April 16) in conjuction with the Houston Sectional tournament at Arabia Shriners, 10510 Harwin Drive, Houston, TX 77036.

The North American GNT championship will be held in Chicago, IL during the Summer NABC (July 13-23, 2023).
